Lodi's Rock & Roll Wine Stroll

Lodi’s 20th annual Rock & Roll Wine Stroll in historic downtown will be celebrated with the addition of vintage cars throughout School Street in downtown Lodi. Over 25 Lodi wineries will be pouring their wines in businesses on Friday, October 14, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Lodi Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event to showcase the fabulous wines of the Lodi Appellation and wonderful restaurants, boutiques and shops in the area.

During the Wine Stroll, Lodi Appellation wineries will be paired with merchants for an evening of wine, food, shopping and entertainment. Plus, a special appearance by local musicians with a fun filled evening of Rockin’ Oldies live music. Guests can taste award-winning wines, meet the vintners, enjoy appetizers provided by hosting merchants and enjoy the entertainment.

Lodi wineries will share their special wines and will also be on hand to discuss their vintages.

Tickets are $30 in advance, $40 at the event; designated driver tickets are $10 in advance or $20 at the event. Assisting in the ‘economic recovery,’ Lodi hotels are offering special discounts for overnight visits. The hotel packages begin at $125, which includes: two Wine Stroll tickets, hotel for one night (double occupancy), transportation to and from hotels, and breakfast. Guests from Sacramento can ride Amtrak to the event. The Southbound San Joaquin Amtrak train departs Sacramento on Friday, October 14, at 4:55 pm and arrives in Lodi at 5:33 pm, which is walking distance (one half block) to downtown Lodi and the Wine Stroll. Guests can pick-up their wine glasses and enjoy live entertainment, music, wine and appetizers in various boutiques and shops. The Amtrak train departs the Lodi train station at 10:39 pm and arrives in Sacramento at 11:30 pm.

Many wine tasting rooms and restaurants remain open following the event. Overnight guests can also take the train back to Sacramento on Saturday, October 15, at 11:34 am. Roundtrip tickets are $18/person. For Amtrak tickets and details call 800-872-7245.
